ANBI and tax benefits

ANBI stands for "Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling" (Public Benefit Organization). Our foundation has received this status from the Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst), which means that your donation is tax-deductible. You can deduct the amount of your gift from your taxable income, effectively allowing you to donate tax-free.

As an individual, you can deduct donations above the threshold amount (1% of your aggregate income, with a minimum of €60) in your income tax return. Keep the donation receipt that we will send you. Different regulations apply for businesses - please contact us for more information.

Yes! Periodic gifts over a minimum of 5 years offer additional tax advantages. You can fully deduct periodic gifts without any threshold. Contact us to set up a periodic donation agreement.

There is no minimum amount for a donation. Every amount, large or small, helps us continue our work. However, for tax deduction purposes, there is a threshold of €60 per year for individuals.

We are a non-profit organisation. And as a small foundation, we keep our overhead costs low. The vast majority of your donation goes directly to the photography project, exhibitions, and documentation. Our board works on a voluntary basis.

Yes, designated gifts are possible. You can specify whether your donation goes to a particular component, such as the China chapter, a specific exhibition, or equipment. Please contact us to discuss your wishes.

Yes, we deeply appreciate those who choose to include our foundation in their estate planning. Bequests (nalatenschappen) are an important way to support our work for the long term and help ensure that drag culture continues to be documented and celebrated for future generations. Legacy gifts are also tax-advantaged under Dutch law. We recommend speaking with your notary about the various options available, such as a specific bequest, a percentage of your estate, or a residual bequest. Please contact us for the correct legal details of the foundation, including our full legal name, registration number, and ANBI status confirmation that your notary will need.
