Your support makes these portraits possible
Support our work
In-Between Kings & Queens is made possible through grants, embassy partnerships, and individual supporters. Each donation directly funds a production, a trip, or a portrait made with someone who has never been photographed this way before.
Stichting In-Between Kings & Queens holds ANBI status. Donations from Dutch residents may be tax-deductible — for periodic donations (minimum five consecutive years), the full amount is deductible without threshold. About the foundation →
International donations are welcome via bank transfer.
Every production involves travel, local fixers, studio costs, printing and postproduction. Without independent funding, we cannot work in the places that need this project most. See current projects →
Fund the workThree hundred portraits. Ten years of documentation. The archive needs to be preserved, digitised and made accessible — as cultural heritage, as reference, as testimony.
Build the archiveExhibitions in embassies, churches, museums and public spaces. The project has shown what happens when these portraits are put in front of unexpected audiences. Read what visitors say →
